Why you might seek out sex and relationship therapy:
-
If you're experiencing difficulties with sexual functioning, such as genital pain (vaginismus, dyspareunia, penile pain), post-surgery complications, endometriosis, or FGM, I offer therapeutic assistance to help you address these challenges. We can also explore concerns related to orgasm difficulties, erection or ejaculation issues, pregnancy and fertility, sexual health, low desire or arousal, and compulsive sexual behavior (commonly referred to as sex addiction). Moreover, if you have encountered sexual abuse or trauma, I provide a trauma-informed approach to support your healing and reclaiming of sexual well-being.

Relationships can present various challenges, and my goal is to support you in navigating them. Together, we can address communication issues, develop effective conflict management skills, and work through trust issues, including infidelity and affairs. If you and your partner(s) have mismatched desires, sexualities, or levels of experience, we can explore strategies to bridge those gaps. I also offer guidance during significant relationship transitions, such as pre-marital therapy, adjusting to living together, coping with illness, navigating grief and bereavement, and adapting to changes in family dynamics. Whether you're considering opening up your relationship or exploring different relationship styles like monogamy, non-monogamy, polyamory, or relationship anarchy, I can provide support and guidance along the way.

I am dedicated to creating an inclusive and affirming space for individuals who identify within the LGBTQIA+ spectrum. If you're questioning your gender, sexuality, or identity, or if you're navigating the challenges of transitioning, dealing with dysphoria, or seeking support with sexual practices, BDSM, kink, or fetishes, I am here to provide understanding and guidance. I also respect and embrace diverse relationship styles, including solo/singledom, monogamy, non-monogamy, polyamory, relationship anarchy, and ace and aromantic dynamics. Together, we can explore your unique experiences, offer support, and foster a deeper understanding of yourself.

Iām an integrative therapist meaning I am influenced by various therapeutic approaches and depending on your goals for therapy, we might adopt a variety of these during our work together.
Gestalt therapy focuses on promoting self-awareness, exploring the here and now, and integrating your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. By embracing the present moment and fostering a deeper understanding of your experiences, we can unlock new possibilities for growth and change.
Existential therapy helps delve into concerns of identity, finding meaning and purpose in our life, dealing with death and the challenges around being human. Together we can explore these questions of purpose, freedom and existence to further understand and connect to fulfilling sex and relationships.
Through the lens of Transactional Analysis, we will explore the dynamics of your relationships and the patterns that shape your interactions. By understanding the roles and scripts that influence your behaviour, we can work towards healthier and more fulfilling connections.
Incorporating Relational therapies, our therapeutic relationship becomes a central focus. I believe in the power of a supportive and collaborative alliance, where trust and empathy provide a foundation for exploration and growth. Together, we will navigate the complexities of your relationships, past and present, fostering deeper connections and healing wounds.
Attachment theory explores the impact of early relationships on our emotional and relational patterns throughout life. Together, we can explore your attachment style and how it influences your connections and interactions with others.
If there are any of these that are of particular interest to you, please let me know.

As a disabled, fat and neurodivergent person myself, I understand that individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences may face unique challenges and barriers in our sex lives and relationships. I am here to provide support and guidance tailored to your specific needs.
You may be navigating mental health issues like depression, anxiety, PTSD, body dysmorphia, OCD, BPD or living with physical or mental disabilities, long-term health conditions, or illnesses.
You might identify as neurodivergent, such as autistic, ADHD, dyslexic, dyspraxic, or neuroqueer.
You may be working towards body acceptance, healing from body shame or seeking support for body-related issues as part of sex and relationship therapy. I embrace the Health At Every Size (HAES) framework which promotes body neutrality, positive self-image and wellbeing regardless of age, size or weight.
By creating an inclusive and understanding space, I aim to empower you to explore how these aspects of your identity intersect with your sexuality and relationships.
How I work:
-
I am committed to addressing the systemic oppression that affects sex and relationships. If you or your partners have experienced discrimination or marginalisation based on factors such as class, race, religion, gender, or culture, I strive to provide a supportive environment where we can explore these dynamics and their impact on your intimate connections. Whether we share these identities or not, we can discuss the similarities or differences to recognise power imbalances that may emerge in our work together.

Discussing topics related to gender, sex, sexuality, and relationships requires sensitivity, respect, and a commitment to promoting understanding and inclusivity. It is essential to create safe and non-judgmental spaces for dialogue, education, and support, allowing all individuals to explore these topics without fear of stigma or discrimination. As an advocate for comprehensive sex education, I provide educational resources through @squirtingisntpee. I have also conducted workshops, talks, and served as a writer, advisor, and expert in the field of sex and relationship education.
